Purple, because I naively thought colon cancer was for ‘old people’ and I envisioned the poem “When I am old I shall wear Purple.” I’m not sure when Warrior came into play, I’ll give my husband credit for that ! Finally ‘Princess’ and PWP, thanks to my fairy godmother who not only called me a princess, but treated me like one.
During treatment, I was given treasured gifts & tokens with words such as 'hope,’ ‘strength,’ 'believe' and many more! The words and symbols such as a crown, butterfly, dragonfly, snowflakes, unicorns and yes Lotus Flowers were things I wore, looked at and read every day! They inspired me to keep going!
I didn’t intend to start a business, or even learn to hand-stamp metal jewelry! I did start what I call ‘assembling jewelry’ for fun during my treatment because I realized the words and symbols were so significant and inspiring, I found myself wanting to make more to wear & share with family & friends.

I didn’t intend to start a business, or even learn to hand-stamp metal jewelry! I did start what I call ‘assembling jewelry’ for fun during my treatment because I realized the words and symbols were so significant and inspiring, I found myself wanting to make more to wear & share with family & friends.
I started slowly by ordering charms and necklaces that represented things I connected to, whether it be cancer, or skiing or something that felt joyful. Then, I got stuck. I could find cancer ribbon symbols, words or even blue charms to respresent the colon cancer color. I could NOT find a : symbol anywhere! I was determined to make a necklace that symbolized colon cancer with a SYMBOL! SO, I bought a few blank charms, a hammer and a punctuation set of stamps to make a colon.
I guess you could say that Colon charm is the ‘Inspired’ of PWP : Inspired! That : led me down a path beyond cancer and it’s treatment. It opened the door to not only a creative outlet, but a way I can share something that has been so significant in my life. I guess you could say that Colon charm is the ‘Inspired’ of PWP : Inspired! That : led me down a path beyond cancer and it’s treatment. It opened the door to not only a creative outlet, but a way I can share something that has been so significant in my life. I love designing special items for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, or any reason. But especially for cancer warriors & awareness and our kids ski team.
The story wouldn’t be full circle if the gifts I received didn’t allow me to give back. While I chose not to be a non-profit myself, I will be donating a portion of all sales to non-profit organizations: either Colon Cancer or Alpine Skiing, depending on the item purchased. These vastly different non-profit focuses have each given me and our family much to be grateful for.
~ With love from me & PWP
